Things that Won't Matter in Heaven

Things that won't matter in heaven.

Race, nationality, physical impairments, or imperfections (Romans 12:4-5)

These won't even be afterthoughts in heaven. We will rejoice in our individualities and the uniqueness given to us by God alone. All that will really matter is the one thing that we all have in common, the unwavering, overwhelming, and unending love of Jesus.

So, own who you are because God made you that way on purpose.

Sexuality (Matthew 22:30)

In heaven, there will be no sexuality at all. We will be able to see the beauty in each other in a way that we have never seen, could never have seen, before. Who you have loved in life will never be as important as how you have loved.

So, make sure to love with your whole heart, the way Jesus loves you.

Political Affiliation (Revelation 7:9-10)

It does not matter in heaven whether you were left or right, red or blue. We will all bow to Jesus. He has made the laws and written them on your heart. He knows you will fall short and has paid the price for you.

He can now lead you, all of us, into eternity. No need to debate. We've won.

Financial status (Matthew 6:19-20)

You cannot buy your way into heaven, nor can you take any riches with you there. Rich or poor, we will all stand together equal in the eyes of Jesus. He has prepared a place for each of us, and we will live with Him in our Father's house.

Remember, money is a tool with which we are to use to bring glory to God.

Religion (Mark 7:6-8)

I know this one may not sound right at first. But in heaven, it won't matter if you went to church every single Sunday or just prayed alone in the kitchen. Who cares if you wore your Sunday best or some old dusty jeans. It's Jesus that makes those Sunday mornings mean something.

It’s not important that you know all the words to every hymn, or that you take communion whenever it’s offered. Without Jesus, you're just singing some songs and drinking some juice.

It doesn't matter how, or even if, you celebrate Christmas and Easter. It was Jesus that came to be born, sacrificed, and resurrected that made those days so much more than mere holidays.

Make sure that all you do is done for Jesus first. Everything He does is done for you.

What will matter in heaven?

Jesus (John 3:16-17)

He was born for you, He suffered for you, He died for you, and then He saved you. He did all of this because He loves you. And He would have done it even if you were the only one in the world who needed saving. You need only to call His name and you will be His.

So, celebrate in the beauty of your body and your mind, just as God meant it to be.

Love with all of your being and pray for those who hate with all of theirs.

Go out and vote for the leaders who will fight for justice and truth, but keep in mind the One who is Truth.

Make your money, don't let it make you, and don't forget those who have little and need much.

On Easter Sunday, put on that freshly starched suit and sing "Amazing Grace" as loud as you can to the One who gave you His.

Because on Earth, as it is in Heaven, all that matters is Jesus
